Huang Zhong encountered Cao Cao's generals 

Xiahou Shang and Xiahou Yuan at Dingjun Mountain.

Huang Zhong initially refrained from engaging the enemy,

 holding his ground, conserving his strength, and waiting for an opportunity.

He waited until Cao Cao's army was exhausted before attacking, 

effectively taking advantage of their rest.

Huang Zhong smiled and said, 

"This is my strategy to lure my enemy into complacency and lower their guard.

We'll see how tonight, recover our camp 

which the previously captured camp, and seize their food and horses."

In the end, Huang Zhong defeated Cao Cao's army.
