Besiege Wei to Save Zhao * part 1

解釋：共敵不如分敵，敵陽不如敵陰。

Explanation: It is better to divide the enemy than to fight together, and it is better to fight the yin than to fight the yang.

歷史上在戰國時期，魏圍攻趙國首都-邯鄲，

Historically during the Warring States Period, Wei besieged Handan, the capital of Zhao State. 

趙國求救於齊國，

Zhao State asked Qi State for help.

齊國以田忌為將，孫臏為軍師，率兵救趙國。

 Qi State appointed Tian Ji as general and Sun Bin as military advisor to lead troops to rescue Zhao State. 

孫臏趁魏國重兵在外，國內空虛，派兵直搗魏國首都-大樑。

Sun Bin took advantage of the fact that Wei had many troops stationed abroad and the country was empty and sent troops to attack the Wei capital - Daliang. 

魏軍被迫撤回，並於桂陵遭齊兵截擊，大敗。

The Wei army was forced to retreat and was intercepted and defeated by the Qi army in Guiling.

趙國之危遂因此而解。

 The crisis of Zhao State was thus resolved.

以後解釋引此典故說明:圍魏救趙就是指襲擊敵人後方，因為很重要所以不得不救的部分，迫使敵兵/對手撤回的戰略。

 This allusion is used later to explain that "Besieging Wei to Save Zhao" refers to the strategy of attacking the enemy's rear, a part that must be rescued because it is so important, to force the enemy soldiers/opponents to withdraw.
