東漢末年，有個名叫禰衡的年輕人，
Toward the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a young man named Mi Heng.
他相當有才華，但脾氣不好，常常得罪人。

曹操本來很喜歡他，但後來被他傲慢的態度觸怒了，氣得想殺掉他。
Cao Cao initially favored him, but his arrogance irritated him and he wanted to kill him.
但又因為他聲名在外，怕遭來非議，於是將他送給荊州刺史劉表。
However, Cao Cao fearing criticism once if he kills Mi Heng. Due to Mi Heng's great reputation, Cao Cao cannot do it. So, he sent Heng to Liu Biao, the governor of Jingzhou.
劉表之前也聽聞禰衡的才華過人，對他十分禮遇，

但禰衡仍不改暴躁的脾氣，以致劉表也受不了他，

想到江夏太守黃祖跟他個性一樣，於是就將他送給黃祖。
Thinking of Huang Zu, the prefect of Jiangxia, who had a similar personality, he sent Heng to Huang Zu.
黃祖剛開始也相當重用他，而禰衡也克盡職責。
Huang Zu initially valued Heng, and Heng diligently fulfilled his duties.
但有一次黃祖在宴請賓客時，禰衡當場和他起了衝突，而且出言不遜，

黃祖一怒之下就將他殺了。

曹操當初把禰衡送給別人就是想借別人的手殺他，後來果然成真。這就是「借刀殺人」。
